Year it all began: 2011
A quick introduction: We’re a heavy, bluesy rock band from Halifax, Nova Scotia. We’ve been touring pretty heavily for the past two years, and have released two records during that time. Right now we’re on a North American tour throughout all of Canada and the United States. We’re currently touring as a duo, a stripped down but still rock n’ roll version of our full band.
What got you into music? We all met while studying music, we lived on the same street and were into the same kind of rock at the time. We all had the same vision for the music we wanted to make, and went from there. Just about everything has changed since we first started the band, except for our vision of the music.
What are your sources of inspiration? As a band we’ve taken a lot from modern rock bands like Band of Skulls, The Dead Weather, and The Kills.
Dream gig? That’s always a hard question. Today, we’ll say a show with Crosss, Band of Skulls, and Dead Sara.
Your thoughts on Canadian Music Week? This is our first time at Canadian Music Week. We’re looking forward to our showcase, but also really excited to check out all the other bands playing. We’ve got a lot of friends with showcases this week, going to try to fit in as many as possible, and hopefully see some new music as well. Festivals like this are fantastic, it’s a great opportunity to network and meet new folks. We always make the most of it!
Interesting points others don’t know about you? We’re on week 2 of a four month North American tour.. not sure if everyone knows that we booked it all independently. I guess that’s kind of interesting.
