Canadian indie rock band Wintersleep jammed out at the Danforth Music Hall during NXNE.
Formed in 2001 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the group kicked off their career by releasing two albums under Dependent Music, before re-releasing the two albums with bonus content when they signed on with Labwork Music. In 2007, they released their third, full album, Welcome to the Night Sky, going on to the win the 2008 Juno Award for New Group of the Year.
One of their most prominent singles of the late has been “Weighty Ghost”, a single that has the Late Show with David Letterman, within the TV Series Being Human and even the Molson Canadian TV commercial. The single was chosen by Bob Mersereau as one of the Top 100 Canadian Singles. The single is currently the theme song of CBC’s new television program, Cracked, starring David Sutcliffe.
