Daniel Patrick Carbone celebrates his feature film debut at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival with Hide Your Smiling Faces, starring Ryan Jones, Nathan Varnson, Colm O’Leary, Thomas Cruz, Christina Starbuck and Chris Kies.
Hide Your Smiling Faces follows the story of two brothers – Tommy & Eric – who venture into the hilly woods around their home to spend a few carefree hours with friends, swimming in the murky lake and running around in the grassy fields. The curious duo, however, are thrown into a world of chaos when the experience of death enters their lives, putting these ‘smiling’ brothers into a state of confusion and anger. Hide Your Smiling Faces puts a spotlight on the inner workings of relationships, using these two brothers to show how different elements co-exist to allow their relationship to work. It also emphasizes the nature of life, how a momentary thing can change one’s life forever.
