Inside Out: The People’s Art Project is a 70 minute documentary film that tracks the evolution of the world’s participatory art project, ‘Inside Out’, kick-started by photographer and artist JR after he won the TED prize at the Long Beach TED Conference on March 2, 2011. ‘Inside Out’ provides an opportunity for individuals to share their perspective and make a statement, creating large-format street images for the public to see. This has become a world-wide phenomenon, with 120,000 posts seen in over 108 countries since 2011, covering countries from Ecuador to Palestine.

Every ‘Inside Out’ action is recorded and archived. The documentary follows the journey of this art phenomenon, taking a deeper look at JR’s inspiration for folks to communicate importance causes, issues and topics through the beauty of art and images.
