On Saturday, February 8, the 2014 TIFF Next Wave 24-Hour Film Challenge kicked off at the TIFF Bell Lightbox with a special breakfast event, attended by the participating teams, last year’s winner Nate Wilson and select members of the jury, including Matt Johnson and Evan Morgan of The Dirties (2013) and Wakening (TIFF 2013 Short) director Danis Goulet.
The challenge takes 20 teams of high school aged youth and gives them 24 hours to make a short film. Films that meet the criteria will be screened at the TIFF Next Wave Film Festival on February 16 2014, where they will be in for a chance of winning $500, presented by RBC.
