What got you into music? I grew up listening to a lot of music around the house. My parents were a big influence on me by getting me involved in music lessons at a very early age.
What are your sources of inspiration? I get my inspiration from emotions and stories that come from a real & honest place. Whether it’s a fun rockin’ tune or a slow heartbreaking ballad, I need to write based on something true or else I won’t connect with it. If I don’t connect to it then my audience definitely won’t either.
Dream gig? The Ryman Auditorium, Massey Hall, CMA Festival, SXSW
Your thoughts on Canadian Music Week? I think it’s a fantastic way for Canada to promote the vast amount of talent it has! We have great music in Canada and CMW is a great festival to attract attention to it.
Interesting points others don’t know about you? I have a very difficult time reading books. I’m a big fan of audio books!
