It may come as a surprise that a band that calls themselves Animal Parts creates music that is essentially concerned with what it means to be human. Joshua Cockerill and his host of talented musicians create indie-influenced rock music that deals with love, loss, and the complexity of the human condition.
The previously solo act Animal Parts now consists of founder and lead vocalist Joshua Cockerill as well as a full band, with Rich Knox on drums, Devon Henderson on bass, Aaron Comeau on keyboard, and Matt Bailey on guitar. Animal Parts’ self-titled debut CD transcends musical genres, combining blues, country, rock, and even the occasional reggae, folk, and pop twists. Although originally from Calgary, Cockerill and his band now reside in Toronto where they play at many local venues and festivals, such as our very own NXNE Festival, when they are not touring across Canada and the United States.
