First day at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival brought us to the AMC Loews Theatre for the short film programme Worst Day Ever, a presentation of three short-films: Setup, Punch, What’s Left, What’s Lost and Fool’s Day.
Setup, Punch is the creative creation of David Schlussel, a story that puts into perspective the need for one to laugh and take necessary bold steps in life. The film stars Elijah Wood and Alia Shawkat. There is a strong intention to make this into a feature film, in due course.
What’s Left, What’s Lost takes dramatic to a whole new level. This film by Katie Rose showcases a father who struggles with the decision to end his own life and the life of his young son. The film is set in the 1950’s at California’s iconic Madonna Inn.
Fool’s Day is brought to the big screen by director Cody Blue Snider, son of musician Dee Snider. The short-film revolves around fourth-grade class members who decide to pull an innocent April Fool’s Day prank on their teacher which accidentally kills her. Fearing jail time, they go about covering up the murder before anyone finds out.
