Amirali Alibhai shares his passion for managing the performing arts at the Aga Khan Museum

Rhythms of Canada Festival 2022

Festivals around the country give audiences a space in which they can immerse themselves into unique programming through a variety of mediums.

Behind every festival though is a creative team that brings that unique programming together.

Amirali Alibhai, Head of Performing Arts at the Aga Khan Museum, takes a moment during the 2022 Rhythms of Canada Festival to discuss the very art of managing and creating a unique festival experience.

Rhythms of Canada Festival 2022 featured a wide range of programming, and its performing arts line-up included everything from the Royal Regiment of Canada band to a rocking performance by singer Meesha Shafi.

The festival celebrated all aspects of Canada, capturing the diversity of this country’s people, and the wealth of culture and arts that people can share with each other. This was something that COO Moyez Jadavji shared in our recent interview.

Alibhai on the other had gives us an inside looking into the performing arts side of the museum’s programming, and how Canada’s diversity truly helps define Canadian culture. We also tackle the very essence of what he and the museum hope audiences will take away from attending one of their events.

The Aga Khan Museum has events year-round, including concerts, exhibitions and educational offerings. Be sure to check out their website for more information.

We hope to share insight into their current exhibitions in upcoming articles, so do visit us again as we continue to highlight Canada’s rich arts and culture scene.
