“Young Adult”: Another Jason Reitman & Diablo Cody Masterpiece

Toronto is full of surprises and honestly, the surprises just keep on coming. Being a lover of everything film and theatre, getting the opportunity to see a free screening is always amazing. George Strombolopolous, his epic team and the awesome people at TIFF put together a free screening of a “Secret Movie” at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on October 18th 2011. Little did we know that the “Secret Movie” was an advance pre-screening of “Young Adult” , a film directed by Jason Reitman & written by Diablo Cody! Whats even better? THEY WERE BOTH THERE AS WELL!!!!

Back in 2007, the world was hit by something too epic to comprehend. This was simply known as “Juno”, a film we are all too familiar with, directed by Jason Reitman & written by Diablo Cody. Little did the world know about Cody back then, especially with Juno being her first screenplay. Reitman on the other hand been making movies since the 90’s, but Juno just took it to another level. Reitman & Cody are back, collaborating once again with “Young Adult” a comedy-drama film staring the ever so awesome Charlize Theron (“Monster”, “The Italian Job”), the ever hilarious Patton Oswalt (“Observe and Report”, “The Informant!”) & the ever-amazing Patrick Wilson (“Morning Glory”, “The A-Team”). Theron  takes on the role of Mavis Gray, a fiction writer, who returns to her hometown to re-ignite the a romance with an ex-boyfriend, who is now married and has kids!

Frankly, the above last line is from IMDB and I am not going to tell you anymore and spoil anything. What I will say is that Reitman works his magic on top of the magical writing that Cody brings to the table! I definitely recommend you go watch it when it hits Theatres in December of this year!

A thank you shout-out to the organizers at TIFF, George & his awesome team!
