We had a lot of fun during Fan Expo Canada 2022 this year, and we can’t wait to share our highlight reel very soon.
With that said, Overwatch was very much top of mind for us! After a great chat with Carolina Ravassa, the voice behind Sombra, we chatted with the wonderful Chloé Hollings who voices the infamous Widowmaker.
Hollings is a French-born Australian actress who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Widowmaker is an iconic character in the Overwatch franchise, renowned for being the deadliest sniper who can take down the majority of her targets with a single shot from her scoped rifle. Hollings has voiced the character since the game’s inception, both in English and French. She has also voiced the role in various Overwatch animated short films, and in the sequel of the game Overwatch 2.
Fan Expo Canada is Hollings’ first appearance, where she was greeted by hundreds of enthusiastic Canadian Overwatch fans. She took sometime during her meet-and-greets to chat with us about what it’s like to be a part of such a large video game franchise, one that has built a very tight-knit and supportive global community. In addition, she reflects on being a voice actor, and the role conventions such as a Fan Expo have played in helping her understand her audience as a voice artist.
