Voice acting is easily one of my favourite arts.
I’m a video game enthusiast, and appreciate the multitude of characters that game companies come up with and present to audiences. However, what makes these characters great are the voices behind them.
At Fan Expo Canada 2022, many talents behind some of our most beloved games and animated shows were in attendance to meet-and-greet with their fans and engage with their many stories.
Carolina Ravassa was one of them.
Game enthusiasts will recognize her as Sombra from Overwatch, a role she reprises in Overwatch 2.
Ravassa joined us before the expo to chat with us everything voice acting, especially the community-nature of Overwatch and how it has socially impacted fans all around the world. In addition, we get into why she loves the medium of voice acting and what doors it has opened up for her both personally and professionally.
Her voice work was not the only reason we wanted to chat with Ravassa.
She has worked on a film that will be releasing later this year that screened at Fan Expo Canada 2022.
Morgan’s Mask follows a cosplayer named Morgan during the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine. While isolated from everyone she loves, her world begins to crumble. To solve her struggles, she must look within herself to guide where she wants her life to go.
This kickstarter-project was a perfect fit for Fan Expo Canada, and we were happy to have seen the film. We will be sharing our thoughts about it very soon.
