From Stand Up To Cancer to amFAR, TIFF is host to many exclusive events and activities each and every year. This year, we got a bit of royalty treatment.
Lady Monika Bacardi and AMBI Pictures’ Andrea Iervolino hosted the first, and hopefully inaugural, AMBI Benefit Gala in support of the Prince Albert II Of Monaco Foundation. The event took place on the Wednesday before TIFF, September 9th, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto. Funny man Martin Short hosted the evenings activities, while a special performance was given by the legendary Diana Ross.
The evening featured HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco as the special guest of honour.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation was established in 2006 to address the planet’s alarming environmental situation. The Foundation is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale, supporting initiatives of public and private organizations, in the fields of research studies, technological innovation and socially-aware practices. The Foundation supports projects in three priority areas: the Mediterranean basin, The Polar Regions and underdeveloped countries as defined by the UN such as the countries of Sahelian Africa, which are severely impacted by the effects of climate change, the loss of biodiversity and water shortage.
The evening featured a star-studded red carpet gala, attended by the whos who of the film and entertainment world, including Paul Sorvino, Elena Semikina, and Vinay Virmani.
