Vikings returns with new storylines and new characters in season 2. Joining the cast is fellow Canadian Alexander Ludwig.
Vikings, a Canada-Ireland co-production, is History’s first scripted series that follows the complex and violent world of Norsemen, inspired by the tales of Viking hero Ragnar Lodbrok. The show brings the audience to a long forgotten time, putting into perspective the ways of the Vikings, warriors that have had an unparalleled impact on the history of humanity.
Born in Vancouver, Alexander Ludwig is the latest Canadian to join the cast of Vikings. His first appearance will be in episode 3 of of the new season of the show, portraying the grown-up Bjorn Lothbrok, son of main characters Ragnar and Lagertha. Watch our interview to learn more about his character. Ludwig has made his name in the film and television world rather quickly, with a number of credits to his name. He is well known for portraying Cato in The Hunger Games and was seen recently in Lone Survivor, starring opposite Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsh and Ben Foster. Other credits include The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, Race to Witch Mountain and Grown Ups 2. Some projects in the works include Thomas Carter’s When the Game Stands Tall with Jim Caviezel, Michael Chiklis and Laura Dern, and Tyler Shields’ Final Girl with Abigail Breslin and Wes Bentley.
