‘Giver’ returns for Season 2 – Interview with Host Michael Lagimodiere

Giver returns for another season on TVO and we sit down with host Michael Lagimodiere to chat all about it.

First launched in 2012, Giver takes a group of kids aged between 6 and 12 and brings them together to help build a playground in their community. These youngsters begin from figuring out what the community needs, designing what kind of elements they would like to see in their playground, what it will take to accomplish the project, and then actually get about building the product. Adding a twist to the challenge: they only have 3 days to do it!

Shows like Giver provide young minds with an opportunity to test their creativity without prejudice or preset rules. We often here that individuals, and now communities, are not giving children an opportunity to express and explore their creative side, limiting what they can and cannot do. By giving a substantial project such as a community playground to create, these kids not only bring to the table what they – the ultimate user – would want to see in a playground, but the creativity and motivation to make their dreams a reality.

Season 2 begins April 30th at 6:30pm on TVO.
