We attended the Red Carpet World Premiere of Stephen Belber’s Match at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, where we had the pleasure of chatting with Carla Gugino, and following up with director Stephen Belber from our previous conversation.
Match follows eccentric Juilliard dance professor Tobias ‘Tobi’ Powell (Sir Patrick Stewart) living a quiet life in the equally quiet neighborhood of Inwood, Manhattan. His somewhat routine schedule is interrupted when he is requested for an interview by a Seattle couple (Carla Gugino & Matthew Lillard) who are looking for information to fuel a dissertation the wife is writing on the history of dance in 1960′s New York. What begins as a friendly, intimate conversation soon takes a turn, revealing truths and the ulterior motive behind the conversation.
