Project Name: The Home Promised
Type: Documentary Film
Synopsis/Overview: The Home Promised is a documentary film by UofT student Betty Xie, one that explores the questions of identity and belonging. The film focuses on the Shaoxing Neighbourhood in Taipei, an area where soldiers from Communist China were fleeing to generations ago. Now forced to leave, they asked themselves: where is home? The film is the winner of 2013 Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival “So You Think You Can Pitch” Competition and is generously supported by numerous organizations.
