Billy Campbell chats about new Sci-Fi show ‘Helix’

As mentioned before, 2014 is really gearing up to be an exciting year for television with new projects presenting themselves. One that has been on everyone’s radar is science fiction thriller, Helix, and we sit down with the show’s lead Billy Campbell (The Killing, Once and Again) to chat a little about the show.

Helix follows a team of scientists at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), led by Dr. Alan Farragut (Billy Campbell), who travel to a state of the art research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. Unaware of the scale of the problem, the team sets out to investigate, only to come face to face with a problem that could determine the fate of humanity.

Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, Campbell has been involved in a variety of critically acclaimed projects. His most notable role was that of Rick Sammler on ABC’s Once and Again, a role that would garner him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series. Another notable role is that of Darren Richmond on AMC’s The Killing. Other television projects he has been a part of include The O.C., The 4400Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Further Tales of the City.

Helix premieres January 10, 2014, at 10E on Showcase.
