Interview with Nicole Muñoz – Chatting about Dance, ‘Defiance’ and More

We sat down for an intimate conversation with Canadian actress Nicole Muñoz, currently starring on SyFy’s Defiance.

Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Muñoz kicked-off her career in the arts at the tender age of 4. She started off in commercials before branching out into both acting and dancing. Her dance skills range from hip-hop to ballet, applying them to various international competitions as a Canadian representative. She brings her dance skills to her acting career as well, garnering her a role on the film Centre Stage: Turn It Up.

Her film and television career is far and broad. She currently plays Christie McCawley on the hit SyFy television show Defiance, the daughter of mining business man Rafe McCawley (Graham Greene). She has guest starred in numerous other television projects including Hemlock Grove, Sanctuary, Stargate: Atlantis, Supernatural and a recurring role on Defying Gravity. She has made quite a mark with her various film roles, starring in productions such as Fantastic Four, The Last Mimzy, Tooth Fairy and Marmaduke. She recently completed two films for TV: Baby Sellers (which aired in August 2013), and Scarecrow, which will premiere on SyFy on October 5th.

Defiance will return with Season 2 in June 2014. Make sure to catch Muñoz’s TV-film Scarecrow on SyFy on Saturday, October 5th at 8/9 central.
