Interview with Noah Reid and Melanie Leishman about Old Stock

We chat with Noah Reid and Melanie Leishman about their new film, Old Stock, currently playing at The Carlton Cinema.

Old Stock revolves around a young man named Stock Burton (Noah Reid) who, after a series of unfortunate events, took early retirement in his Grandfather’s – Harold (Jack Daniel Wells) – retirement home. Two years away from society, Stock must now return to the playing field and come to terms with his past. Together with his new friend Patti (Melanie Leishman), Stock sets about making things right.

Noah Reid is a Toronto-born Canadian actor who attended both the Etobicoke School of the Arts and The National Theatre School of Canada. He is best recognized as the voice of Franklin the turtle, in the children’s TV show of the same name. Other credits include Jon Jones’ Titanic TV mini-series as Harry Widener and playing the lead role of Farley Gordon in TIFF 2010’s opening film, Score: A Hockey Musical.

Melanie Leishman, also born in Toronto, is an actress with many credits to her name. She is perhaps best known for playing Hannah in Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, a role she portrayed for 26 episodes. She also played Kathi Giraldi in Darcy’s Wild Life which aired on the Family Channel and Discovery Kids. She will star opposite Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf in Jerome Sable’s upcoming 2013 film, Stage Fright.
