Trevor Tordjman & Isaac Lupien talk about The Next Step, Drama, Dance & More!

The Family Channel premieres a new, highly anticipated original series, The Next Step, that follows a group of young dancers as they try to make it in the competitive world of dance. The Arts Scene sat down for a conversation with Trevor Tordjman and Isaac Lupien to chat about the show & their characters, their beginnings in the world of dance and what advice they would give people who want to go into dance.

Trevor Tordjman plays James, a naturally gifted break dancer who is energetic and fun, using his rather brilliant charm to win over the ladies in the studio. Tordjman began dancing at the age of four at his mother’s dance studio, ConfiDance, in Kitchener, Ontario. What began as just another thing on his agenda soon became his passion. He developed an interest in break dancing and hip hop, going on to work in music videos with artists such as Victoria Duffield and Shawn Desman.

Isaac Lupien plays Eldon, a nerdy character with a gift for dance, excelling at all styles of dance with a primary interest in contemporary. Lupien was introduced into the arts world very young, at only 11 months old. He kick started his interest in dance at the age of 2, performing on stages across Canada, the United States and Europe, winning quite a number of medals and prizes. His most recent accolade is being named the Senior First Overall Soloist at the 2012 Showstoppers American Dance Championships. Lupien has trained with some of the best choreographers in the industry, including Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore and Desmond Richardson.

The Next Step premieres Friday, March 8 at 7 pm ET/PT. Make sure to visit Family.ca for all the information on the show and to learn more about the characters. Make sure to check out our interview with Alexandra Beaton & Brittany Raymond who play Emily and Riley on The Next Step!
