On Thursday, November 1st, The Company Theatre celebrated the opening of their latest theatre production, Speaking in Tongues. Watch out for a review of the production and an interview with select members of the cast and crew!
Directed by co-Artistic Director Philip Riccio, this latest theatre adventure brings to stage a contemporary classic of the same name, written by Australian stage and screenwriter, Andrew Bovell. The story revolves around four marriages, each with its own level of complexity. Fueled by sex, lies and neglect, these characters are pushed mentally and physically, reaching a pivotal point when a woman goes missing. This thought-provoking production features four actors – Richard Clarkin, Jonathan Goad, Helene Joy & Yanna McIntosh – each of whom plays a minimum of two characters, for a total of nine.
The cast and crew celebrated the productions opening night last Thursday, joining guests for a post-show reception. Joining the reception was Allan Hawco – co-Artistic Director of The Company Theatre with Philip Riccio – who is best known for his role as Jake Doyle on CBC’s Republic of Doyle.
