Giving back with a bit of music

Every year, the arts play an important role in supporting important causes & raising awareness. The arts bring people together, giving them an opportunity to reflect. There is now another event that will make an impact closer to home: the Dixon Hall Duet.

Since 1929, Dixon Hall has had one agenda in mind: help build a stronger community. They provide a diverse set of neighborhood programs including a Music School where, to support children from low-income families, a lesson is as low as $3 per person. Among others, they also provide shelter services for the homeless and employment services to help guide people into the workforce. For 80 years the organization has created positive change in our community. Now we have a chance to lend a hand.

The Dixon Hall Duet, organized by students and professionals alike, aims to shine a light upon the organization.  The event features musical performances from students at the University of Toronto, Dixon Hall Youth Centre & Dixon Hall Music School. Entrance tickets are only $5 and all proceedings go to Dixon Hall, to support their work in the community.

The event takes place April 2nd 2012 at the Faculty of Music’s Edward Johnson Building, located at the University of Toronto campus. If you are in Toronto, please come and support this amazing event. For more details, please see flyer below!
