Maxwell McCabe-Lokos & Sarah Allen Discuss ‘The Husband’

One of the most talked about Canadian films at TIFF 2013 was Bruce McDonald’s The Husband, now making its theatrical release on March 14th at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.

The Husband follows Henry Andreas (Maxwell McCabe-Lokos), a Toronto ad-agency copywriter having a pretty rubbish year. His wife – Alyssa Andreas (Sarah Allen) – is serving time in jail for sleeping with an underage student, and then he is left alone to raise and care for their infant son. Henry tries to find balance in his life, struggling to keep his emotions – mostly rage – in check. This right-at-the-edge black comedy, directed by Canada’s very own Bruce McDonald, will take audiences on a roller coaster journey through psychological material, unstable circumstances, and characters pushed right at the edge.

Maxwell McCabe-Lokos co-wrote The Husband with Kelly Harms, in addition to his acting role. As a matter of fact, he is a man of many hats, juggling writing, acting and even music. His acting roles stretch far and wide. His film credits include The Incredible Hulk, Lars and the Real Girl and Land of the Dead. His television credits include guest roles in shows such Being Erica, The Listener and Copper.

Sarah Allen recently spoke to us about her new show Remedy, playing primary character Sandy Conner. She is a recognizable face in the business, being involved with a number of great projects. Her recent credits include 19-2, Being Human, The Best Laid Plans, Nikita and Murdoch Mysteries. A number of film credits to her name include Walter Salles’ On the Road (2012) and TV Movie Silent Witness (2011).

The Husband plays at the TIFF Bell Lightbox starting March 14. For tickets, visit HERE.
