Canadian Screen Awards 2013: Interview with Laura Vandervoort
Shouting “Supergirl in the house” at the Canadian Screen Awards would be both a fact and an understatement. The beautiful Laura Vandervoort attended the inaugural awards as both a guest and presenter. We caught up with the gorgeous gal for a short chit-chat after the awards, to get her take on the event and chat about comics.
Laura Vandervoort is a fellow Torontonian who has established herself as a power-house in the industry. She is best known for her role as Kara, AKA Supergirl, on the hit CW show Smallville. She also starred as a series regular on ABC’s V as Lisa. Her television and film credits don’t end there. She did a total of 52 episodes as Sadie Harrison on Instant Star and has starred in hit films such as This Means War, Ted and Into The Blue 2.
She has a number of exciting projects in the works. She will star as Jessica in Jeff Stephenson’s upcoming comedy film Cubicle Warriors, starring opposite Alan Thicke, Michael Seater and Nicholas Campbell. The film follows two young grads who try to stop an investment bank from closing a crooked deal involving student loans. She will was also star in Michael Budd’s Life of the Party. The film stars Michael Budd and Tobin Bell, and revolves around the story of 3 friends who, as they near their thirties, attempt to stay young and try to host the world’s longest house party.
